This game gets Grandparents who want to have fun with their grandkids to adventure and explore together
Designed to create epic adventures and lasting memories with the Grandchildren, the primary outcome is fun! But if you look a little deeper (and you don't need to tell the grandkids this) you'll find cards that bridge the gaps between the generations and encourage cross generational sharing. You'll find chances to share history with stories and real life adventures. You'll find ways to capture and create history, to make things together, to explore together, to play together in ways you played when you were young and of course to have fun together.
The Grandparents Edition of the Getting Lost Game is our biggest game ever - featuring 30 At Home Activities on one side of the cards and 30 Out and About Activities and Directions on the other side of the cards.

The Grandparents Edition is made with the help of our amazing Getting Lost community of grandparents. We've had literally thousands of suggestions for this game. And a particular mention goes to Lesley, Michelle, Kathy, Leanne, Ronda, Wendy, Gail, Suzanne, Lynette, Suzie, Lea, Angela, Kerri, Louise, Kerry, Sheryl, Erin, Kobe, Roselle, Sue, Laraine, Joanne, Christine, Janine, Amelia, Jenni, Charlie, Lynda, Leeana and Monica whose ideas feature in this edition. This game has been tested by Grandparents and Grandchildren alike and we hope that it will be tested by many, many more in the years to come.
Our cards measures 91mm x 55mm. They have misdirection cards on one side and NZ and Australian locations (known as our inspiration cards) on the other side. All these locations can be found on our blog so its perfect for a little holiday inspiration and dreaming.
Want to customise your game? You can add mini compass or grab one of our suitcases in your favourite colour. Our suitcases fit 45 cards and are great for combining packs and taking them out and about.

I was apprehensive about playing with grandchildren (12, 10, 5 year old boys and 8 year old girl) however they were right into it. Even the 12 year old loved using his phone for directions. We did the out and about one and I ‘stacked’ the cards to take us on a pre determined route (sorry didn’t get lost) because I felt I needed to have control, especially for toilet stops. We took 4 hrs which included lunch. I would have liked a couple of blank cards to add my own instructions ie we have a tourist tram and as these were the trams my husband and I rode on included this. I was surprised how much everyone enjoyed the ride. I found not driving very far was better and doing 2 or 3 activities at the one stop worked well. It was a great day.
I've been known to stack a few cards too! ;-)

My father was super impressed with the imaginative tasks from the cards. He is looking forward to being able to do these over the next few years with his now 5-year-old grand daughter. I think some of the ideas may even be used for picnic outings with family and friends.
